
On the edge of the crater
The only time you can get the Indonesian volcanoes is from May to September. As for the rest part of the year roads are either degraded or the tops of mountains are hidden behind the thick fog.
This occurs at least one of the 3,000 islands Indonesia: Volcano Wakes up, produced puffs of smoke and tourists from all over the world come here with their photo. Kelimutu
But a revival of the volcano which is Kelimutu of Flores Island is easy and enjoyable. Here you can rent a jeep or a motorcycle. At dawn, you can meet a guide and spend 1.5 hours on a mountain path that is among groves of bamboo, past rivers and waterfalls. At the top of the mountain, there are three lakes in the crater of an extinct, which change colors depending what minerals they contain. According to legend, when people die, their souls go to lakes: innocent turquoise water one, a sinner – black, while Lake Brown is a sort of purgatory.
What can you see?
In Surabaya, you will find an excellent zoo where there are species Rare birds and orang-utans. You are also invited to visit the ancient, northern part of the city – Masjid Ampel Arab district, Pasar Pabean market and small temples in Chinatown with its quiet streets.
Flores coast offers wonderful diving, especially in Labuanbajo. Here, you can also take a boat and go to the island of Komodo dragons famous for its huge.
Maumere is popular for its colorful markets of strange fruit, red sugar and cocoa delivered directly from plantations. There are also scarves and beautiful rugs with geometric patterns Neat.
You should Pagans also visit the villages Ngada with stone altars and "ancestor" houses – huts is where souls of living men or poles dressed skirts made of banana leaves (where the souls of women living).
The prices are really low. The most expensive entertainment is immersed in Maumere which costs 50 $.
