How to memorise words fast?

I have an exam tomorrow for Indonesian language.
We have to pretty much know the words in the revision papers.
I have to memorise around 400-500 words.

What is a fast and effective way please?
If your suggesting flash cards they waste time to just create.

Here’s a tip for any future moments when you find yourself stuck in a similar situation: The use of acronyms! You know, like ‘brb’ stands for ‘be right back’. Usually stupid things work, for example, I was memorizing some psychology terms yesterday and a word like “Absolute Threshold’. The first thing that popped into my mind was someone shifter gears by yanking on a gear shifter in a car, hence e ‘threshold’. The actual definition of i is ‘the minimum amount of physical energy needed to produce a sensory experience’. Ss in my mind the person has to push it, and that’s the very minimum he has to do if he wants to experience the cars velocity change (hence sensory).

This is a really good method, this way you’re not cramming a million words into your mind frame in such a short amount of time. You just take the very first thing that pops into your mind about the what you’re memorizing, long story or not, parts of it, into small images and make it fit to the description of its definition.

By the way, if you are trying to memorize a really long essay or something, did you know that writing something down ONCE is equivalent to saying it out loud SEVEN times? It’s a fact. Try it out. If you write it all out 10 times, it’s as good as you having said it out loud 70 times !
