Will immigrate to Canada – Vancouver?

My family will land first on Aug-Sep'08 because I want to register at his new school mandate. I'll join another 6 months. Need service apartment and buy landed house later. Plan to live in Burnaby. How is the city? What cost of rent, security and quality of school? We are from Indonesia and I need the school has really treat my children and they can catch up lessons faster. I just joined. Thank you.

Burnaby is one of the most enjoyable of the Lower Mainland (Vancouver area). Unfortunately, the rent is high compared to the rest of the province. The schools are good, fairly multicultural. All schools also have ESL (English language sencond) that your children may find useful. Security is very good during the day but at night its safer to stay inside or be with a group. I live in British Columbia, but not in the Vancouver area. I do not like the life of cities, life and enjoy my quiet little town.
